Bolzano

THE CAPITAL OF SOUTH TYROL

The capital of South Tyrol, Bolzano, is 35 km from Val Gardena. With its historic Portici or Arcades, unique architecture and culture it is a picturesque place to visit. Piazza Walther (square), which is part of the historic town centre, is the ideal base to start a tour of the city.

You can stroll leisurely through the Arcades past boutiques and other shops in all weather. The Arcades, formerly called vaults, were once the centre of life and activity of Italian merchants.
